Blended Online Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is designed and assessed by MHFA Australia – a national not-for-profit health promotion charity.

This course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis. It is designed to provide MHFA knowledge on how to recognise symptoms of mental health problems in adults and how to approach and provide support for people in a crisis situation.

We offer two types of Blended Online MHFA course:

  • Blended Online MHFA Community is designed for participants who want to assist a friend, family member, or other people in the community.
  • Blended Online MHFA Workplace is designed for participants who want to assist a co-worker, client and other people in the workplace.

Blended Online MHFA Community and Blended Online MHFA Workplace courses consist of 2 components:

  • Component 1 – A self-paced eLearning module – to be bought and completed separately on Mental Health First Aid Australia’ website BEFORE enrolling in ZOOM sessions with us.
  • Component 2 – two 2.5 hrs sessions via ZOOM – AM and PM sessions on the same day – check our calendar below to find available dates.

IMPORTANT: We DO NOT provide eLearning component!

You are required to obtain it yourself on Mental Health First Aid Australia’ website. Our course only includes the second component (two ZOOM sessions).

To book in for a course, please complete the following steps:

STEP 1:  Obtain eLearning component buy registering on MHFA Australia portal:

  • To buy a eLearning component for Blended Online MHFA Community, click here
  • To buy a eLearning component for Blended Online MHFA Workplace, click here

STEP 2:  Complete the eLearning component before booking for two ZOOM sessions with us. eLearning should take 5-7 hrs to complete.

STEP 3:  Check our calendar below and book in for our ZOOM sessions.  Both sessions are compulsory to attend.

  • AM session: 9:30am – 12:00pm
  • PM session: 1:30pm – 4:00pm

STEP 4: After completing the course, you can do Mental Health First Aider Accreditation with Mental Health First Aid Australia and be accredited.

From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Students can use their USI to access their enrolment and achievement record from a single online source. The USI is made up of ten numbers and letters. A USI account will contain all of a student’s nationally recognised training records and results since 1 January 2015.

IF A PARTICIPANT FAILS TO PRODUCE A VALID USI NUMBER, STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED.

Edway Training will verify your USI before a certificate or statement can be issued.

After a completion of a MHFA course, participants opt to undertake an online assessment if they want to become an accredited Mental Health First Aider. To keep your accreditation, you need to take a refresher course every 3 years.
