A: Yes, the course consists of both theory-based and practical assessments.
Large-scale (over 10 sqm) asbestos removal work can not be undertaken without the presence of an asbestos safety supervisor.
Supervise asbestos removal course specifies the outcomes required to supervise the removal process for friable and non-friable asbestos-containing material (ACM).
Course CODE
Supervise Asbestos Removal training course is delivered and certificates are issued by the Edway Training (RTO No 91401).
Edway Training is approved by the Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) to deliver this training course.

Edway Training, with confirmation from the Victorian Government, will be offering limited training services onsite. This is to assist permitted work premises and permitted workers to obtain necessary qualifications, specifically in the areas of First Aid and Construction work.
All courses will follow strict COVID-19 precautions and requirements based on guidelines set out by the Victorian Government for permitted workplaces.

Upon successful completion of the course, on the day of training, participants will receive:
Asbestos Safety Supervisor training covers the following topics such as generate an Asbestos Removal Plan, Prepare worksite for Asbestos Removal, Supervise asbestos testing, documentation, and compliance, Supervise and support team members, Supervise safe removal of asbestos, Supervise decontamination of workers and equipment, Ensure strict compliance of legislation and WHS processes.
Supervise Asbestos Removal training course consists of powerpoint theory presentation, videos, practical activities and end of the day practical and theory assessments.
Statement of Attainment is nationally recognised.
However, additional training might be required in different states. Please refer to the local authority for more information.

Participants must hold the following units of competency prior to undertaking this training:
CPCWHS2001 Work Safely in the Construction Industry
CPCCDE3014 Remove non-friable asbestos and/or
CPCCDE3015 Remove friable asbestos.
Statement of the Attainment or the plastic Construction Induction card (also known as the white card) must be presented on the day of training as a proof of qualification.
Please note that the old coloured cards (Victorian red card, NSW green card etc) issued prior to May 2009 are not accepted.
Statement of attainment for non-friable and/or friable asbestos removal must also be presented on the day of training.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED
if participant does not present current white card.
From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED
if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.
USI can be obtained via www.usi.gov.au
Participants must provide one form of photo I.D. (e.g. passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card, student card).
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED
if participants do not provide a valid form of I.D.
Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED
if participants arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time.
Basic level of understanding, reading and writing of English is required. Use of interpreters and translators is not allowed.
As part of our pre-training review all students are required to complete an LLN assessment to determine a student’s eligibility for enrolment into their selected course.
All students enrolling into any Edway Training course must have LLN skills to do simple calculations, understand English well enough to be able to read, write, and provide verbal responses to questions in English to undertake training and assessment in any of our courses.
