The training you need to remove bonded asbestos
You train to remove non-friable asbestos safely — the bonded material that is not crumbly, and the kind construction and demolition workers meet most often on site.
It is written for the people doing that work: construction and demolition workers taking bonded asbestos off site, and anyone who needs this unit before moving up to Class A friable removal or supervising.

Before you book
A quick language check is part of enrolment. You'll need enough English to read, write and understand the course. After booking, you'll complete a short language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) check in your student account. You need to pass it to do the course. Not sure? Try a practice check first. What you'll need
A USI. A Unique Student Identifier.
Photo ID. A valid photo ID, shown when you arrive on the day.
On the day, you'll also show 100 points of ID.SafeWork NSW evidence of identity requirements (PDF)
A current White Card. You need a current White Card (CPCWHS1001, issued after May 2009). Without it, you can't do this course.
You must be 14 or over to do this training. SafeWork NSW sets the minimum age for asbestos removal training at 14.
You must be 18 or over to hold a Class B removal licence. The licence itself is applied for by the licensed removal business, or by you if you're self-employed.

Class B asbestos removal training card
The card is handed to you on the day. Your Statement of Attainment does not expire, and New South Wales sets no refresher interval — how often you refresh is your employer's call.
The card's cost is included in the course price.
Why do this course?
Class B training is what gets you onto bonded asbestos removal jobs — a licensed removalist can't put you on the tools without it, and it's the unit you have to hold before you can go on to Class A or supervising.

- Asbestos removal worker (bonded asbestos)Removal work is licensed work — you do it for a licensed removalist, or you hold the Class B licence yourself.
- Demolition and strip-out workerRemoval work is licensed work — you do it for a licensed removalist, or you hold the Class B licence yourself.
- Self-employed tradesperson removing bonded asbestos sheetingWorking on your own above the unlicensed limit means holding the Class B licence yourself, plus the supervisor competency.

Your Statement of Attainment for CPCCDE3028 Remove non-friable asbestos is nationally recognised, so it is accepted in every state and territory.
Your Statement of Attainment travels with you. The Class B removal licence does not — each state and territory's work health and safety regulator issues its own.

Unit 34 in the Prospect Highway complex. The training rooms are up a staircase, and there is no lift.

We have a ground-floor training room available for participants who require wheelchair access or have difficulty using stairs. Its availability may depend on participant numbers, so please notify us of any accessibility requirements when booking.

There is no customer parking on site. Limited public parking may be available nearby, including the small Blacktown Council Car Park 72 on Hope Street. Parking limits and availability vary, so check all signs. Allow extra time to park and walk to the venue.
Finding the entrance
Look for Unit 34 and the Edway/Training Aid signage. The entrance leads to a staircase up to the training rooms.

What happens after you book

- 2Set up your student accountLog in with the details in your confirmation email and set up your account.
- 3Have your USI readyA Unique Student Identifier is required for this course. Get or find yours at usi.gov.au.
- 4Complete a short LLND checkIn your student account you complete a short language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) check. You'll need enough English to take part and to pass it.
- 5We confirm your enrolmentOnce you've finished the LLND check, we confirm your enrolment by email. If there's a problem with your eligibility, we'll contact you directly before you start.
- 6On the dayBring your current White Card, 100 points of ID and closed-toe shoes, and arrive 15 minutes early. Your ID is checked when you arrive.
