Who needs a White Card

Construction Induction training is required for:

  • all persons who carry out construction work, including site managers and supervisors, surveyors
  • labourers and tradespersons, who access operational construction zones unaccompanied or not directly supervised by an inducted person
  • all persons whose employment causes them to routinely enter operational construction zones

Furthermore, a Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) must ensure general construction induction training is provided to any worker engaged by the person carrying out the construction work.

How to get White Card TAS

To apply for a white card, you must complete a Construction Induction Application Form, submit a Statement of Attainment confirming successful completion of the required course in Tasmania (including your name, RTO number, date of issue, and training unit – CPCWHS1001), provide identification documents, and pay an application fee.

Once these steps are completed, Service Tasmania will review your application and forward it to WorkSafe for processing.
