This course is run in conjunction with both HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and HLTAID003 Provide First Aid so that participants can be familiar with general First Aid techniques, most of which would still be applicable to children. Also so that participants who are working in the childcare or education industries can also obtain their required CPR certificate at the same time that they complete their industry-specific childcare components.
1. Student Workbook. Participant must bring completed Student Workbook (all questions must be completed).
The link for the Student Workbook download will be provided in the confirmation email after submission of the online registration form.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED if the Student Workbook is not completed.
2. Attendance. Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior the scheduled starting time to complete the necessary registration paperwork.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED if participants arrive 20 minutes after the scheduled starting time.
3. Identification. Participants must provide one form of valid I.D. (e.g. passport, driver’s licence, proof of age card, student card).
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED if participants do not provide a valid form of photo I.D.
4. Basic understanding of English language. To complete the course assessment, the basic understanding of reading and writing English is required.
The trainer reserves the right to refuse entry to the course based on the outcome of the Language, Literacy and Numeracy test which is available to all participants.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment in HLTAID004 Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting. This qualification also includes and amalgamates the competencies of HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, as well as HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
The HLTAID004 certificate also consolidates the required Asthma and Anaphylaxis components for working with children, namely the 22282VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace (including VU21658 – Manage Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace), as well as 22300VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis (including VU21800 – Provide First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis and VU21801 – Develop Risk Minimisation and Risk Management Strategies for Anaphylaxis)
