Q: Are there any prerequisites for the Childcare First Aid course?
A: Yes, there is mandatory online pre-study that needs to be completed prior to your training date. You will be given access to this via your booking confirmation email.
This course covers all of the First Aid components required to legally work with children or in childcare. Our Childcare First Aid course is designed to meet the needs of both childcare professionals as well as concerned first-time parents, grandparents and family members.
Course CODE
Child Care First Aid training course is delivered and certificates are issued by the Training Aid Australia (RTO No 91411).
Training Aid Australia is accredited by the Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) to deliver this training course.

Edway Training, with confirmation from the Victorian Government, will be offering limited training services onsite. This is to assist permitted work premises and permitted workers to obtain necessary qualifications, specifically in the areas of First Aid and Construction work.

First Aid training course consists of a PowerPoint presentation, class activities, practical activities, and end of the day assessment.
Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting HLTAID012 statement of attainment is nationally recognised.

Participants must complete the online pre-study module. It covers the theoretical part of the advanced resuscitation training.

STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED
if a participant does not complete the online pre-study module.
From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED
if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.
USI can be obtained via www.usi.gov.au
Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED
if participants arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time.
Participants must provide one form of photo I.D. (e.g. passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card, student card).
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED
if participants do not provide a valid form of I.D.
The basic level of understanding, reading and writing of English is required. Use of interpreters and translators is not allowed.
As part of our pre-training review all students are required to complete an LLN assessment to determine a student’s eligibility for enrolment into their selected course.
All students enrolling into any Training Aid Australia course must have LLN skills to do simple calculations, understand English well enough to be able to read, write, and provide verbal responses to questions in English to undertake training and assessment in any of our courses.
