Advanced Resuscitation Course (CLS) Melbourne

Provide Advanced Resuscitation HLTAID015 training is designed to build on skills already acquired with the HLTAID11 (HLTAID003) Provide First Aid certificate. The course has three general areas of focus: appropriate use of complex resuscitation skills, use and care of resuscitation equipment, and appropriate follow up procedures.

COVID-19 UPDATE: EDWAY TRAINING WILL REMAIN OPEN OVER THE 7 DAY LOCKDOWN as we are classed as essential education. Classes will run as normal in line with our COVID-19 Safety Plans and current government restrictions.

It is our policy not to allow any student into any training site without a face mask and all students must sign on to the Victorian COVID Tracing QR Code. Refusal to do either of these things will result in the student being asked to leave the premises immediately.

COVID-19 Update

Edway Training, with confirmation from the Victorian Government, will be offering limited training services onsite. This is to assist permitted work premises and permitted workers to obtain necessary qualifications, specifically in the areas of First Aid and Construction work.

All courses will follow strict COVID-19 precautions and requirements based on guidelines set out by the Victorian Government for permitted workplaces.

These include;

  • Edway Training will abide by and have available at all times a COVIDSafe Plan
  • All Edway Training staff have completed COVID-19 Infection Control Training
  • Edway Training will offer hand sanitation stations in every classroom and at the entrance and exit of our building.
  • All staff and students will be required to sign a declaration that they are free of any signs or symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), and or close contact of anyone who has tested positive.
  • All student and staff are required to wear a facemask at all times.
  • All staff and students are required to have their temperature is taken prior to entry into classes.
  • All classes will be conducted abiding by the 4sqm and 1.5m social distancing guidelines.
  • Classes will have regular breaks every 2 hours.
  • Edway Training’s staff will sanitise all surfaces and high contact items such as door handles at each break and air the room during the break.
  • During breaks, student will be required to maintain social distancing and to spend as much of the break outside as possible.

Advanced Resuscitation Course Information

  • Advanced resuscitation covers the use of AED’s, the use of Oxygen tanks and Oxygen administration, bag-valve CPR masks among other equipment.
  • Provide Advanced Resuscitation HLTAID015 must be refreshed after 1 year to be considered up-to-date.
  • Provide Advanced Resuscitation Course is a standalone accreditation and no longer goes with Provide Advanced First Aid course.
  • To attend this course you must have a valid Provide First Aid HLTAID011 or HLTAID003 certificate.
  • This course includes Provide CPR – HLTAID009 qualification.
  • If you are interested in obtaining an Advanced First Aid qualification, please check to Provide Advanced First Aid Course HLTAID014.
  • This course supersedes the former qualification HLTAID007– Provide Advanced Resuscitation.
  • WorkSafe’s Code of Practice requires ‘High Risk’ workplaces to have an Advanced First Aid Officer with Advanced Resuscitation accreditation for every 25 employees, two for 50 employees, and one extra Senior First Aid Officer for every 25 employees afterwards.
  • Advanced Resuscitation Training is designed for Senior First Aid Officers who are employed as first responders, construction site first aid managers, carers of children or the elderly, recreational and leisure team leaders and who are employed within the social welfare sectors, security industries and defence sectors.

The basic level of understanding, reading and writing of English is required. Use of interpreters and translators is not allowed.

As part of our pre-training review all students are required to complete an LLN assessment to determine a student’s eligibility for enrolment into their selected course.

All students enrolling into any Training Aid Australia course must have LLN skills to do simple calculations, understand English well enough to be able to read, write, and provide verbal responses to questions in English to undertake training and assessment in any of our courses.
