Edway Training, with confirmation from the Victorian Government, will be offering limited training services onsite. This is to assist permitted work premises and permitted workers to obtain necessary qualifications, specifically in the areas of First Aid and Construction work.
All courses will follow strict COVID-19 precautions and requirements based on guidelines set out by the Victorian Government for permitted workplaces.
These include;
- Edway Training will abide by and have available at all times a COVIDSafe Plan
- All Edway Training staff have completed COVID-19 Infection Control Training
- Edway Training will offer hand sanitation stations in every classroom and at the entrance and exit of our building.
- All staff and students will be required to sign a declaration that they are free of any signs or symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), and or close contact of anyone who has tested positive.
- All student and staff are required to wear a facemask at all times.
- All staff and students are required to have their temperature is taken prior to entry into classes.
- All classes will be conducted abiding by the 4sqm and 1.5m social distancing guidelines.
- Classes will have regular breaks every 2 hours.
- Edway Training’s staff will sanitise all surfaces and high contact items such as door handles at each break and air the room during the break.
- During breaks, student will be required to maintain social distancing and to spend as much of the break outside as possible.
TMI1 Traffic Management Implementer Course Information
Skill Set Overview
This skill set equips individuals with skills to implement traffic management plans in Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) Category 1 environments, including urban streets and low volume rural roads.
Traffic Management Implementer 1 (TMI1) provides skills in implementing traffic management plans, using traffic control devices, effective communication, hazard identification, risk management, worksite setup and maintenance, regulatory compliance, and emergency responses.
Pathways
Completing the TMI1 course provides credits towards recognised qualifications such as RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction and Other Certificate II and III Qualifications.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
and Credit Transfer
We acknowledge the value of prior learning and offer:
RPL: Assessment against Austroads TTM program requirements, including a challenge test.
Credit Transfer: Available for equivalent units from approved providers, with a challenge test for non-Austroads programs.
Expiry
The TMI1 training is valid for three years from the date of completion.
To maintain certification, a refresher course is required every three years.
Training Prerequisite
Unit of Competency CPCWHS1001: Prepare to work safely in the construction industry is a training prerequisite and entry requirement for TMI1 training.
Please be aware that red cards and plastic white cards are insufficient documentation of CPCWHS1001 completion and will not be accepted.
The only proof of completion that is accepted is a Statement of Attainment with of CPCWHS1001: Prepare to work safely in the construction industry competency.

Participants are required to complete practical experience involving at least three different types of traffic management setups in a temporary traffic management workplace under the supervision of qualified and licensed professionals. This must be completed after the theory based learning and before the final practical assessment - Stage 3:
Practical application and assessment. Practical training is conducted in a simulated environment. The practical assessment component is to be undertaken after the practical experience is gained.

Real-world simulations, hands-on tasks to evaluate practical skills and competence - Three Different Types of Setups:
Participants must complete practical experience involving at least three different types of traffic management setups in a temporary traffic management workplace. The practical experience is designed to prepare learners for the final practical assessment. The assessment will test their ability to implement traffic management plans and use traffic control devices in a live traffic scenario.
Participants must maintain a logbook of activities, verified by a supervisor. Practical assessments are conducted in live traffic scenarios and must be completed within six months of the theoretical component.
This can be completed at the participant’s place of employment. If the participant is not employed, Edway Training has arrangements with approved traffic management companies to facilitate the completion of the required practical elements.
