What Will You Receive

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:

  • Access to the MHFA assessment
  • Completion of the short assessment at the end of a course leads to accreditation as a Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider).

What Will You Learn

Mental Health First Aid in the Community training course covers common and disabling mental health problems and crisis situations.
Learning Outcomes:
  • Recognise signs and symptoms of mental health problems in adults.
  • Use an action plan to initiate mental health first aid conversations.
  • Understand barriers to help-seeking and methods to overcome them.
  • Assess and provide initial support in various crisis situations.
  • Gain knowledge about the prevalence, impact, risk factors, and treatments for mental illnesses.
  • Learn and apply self-care practices as a Mental Health First Aider.

Become a MHFAider

You can complete the short assessment at the end of a course to become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider).
