COVID-19 Update
Edway Training, with confirmation from the Victorian Government, will be offering limited training services onsite. This is to assist permitted work premises and permitted workers to obtain necessary qualifications, specifically in the areas of First Aid and Construction work.
All courses will follow strict COVID-19 precautions and requirements based on guidelines set out by the Victorian Government for permitted workplaces.
These include;
- Edway Training will abide by and have available at all times a COVIDSafe Plan
- All Edway Training staff have completed COVID-19 Infection Control Training
- Edway Training will offer hand sanitation stations in every classroom and at the entrance and exit of our building.
- All staff and students will be required to sign a declaration that they are free of any signs or symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), and or close contact of anyone who has tested positive.
- All student and staff are required to wear a facemask at all times.
- All staff and students are required to have their temperature is taken prior to entry into classes.
- All classes will be conducted abiding by the 4sqm and 1.5m social distancing guidelines.
- Classes will have regular breaks every 2 hours.
- Edway Training’s staff will sanitise all surfaces and high contact items such as door handles at each break and air the room during the break.
- During breaks, student will be required to maintain social distancing and to spend as much of the break outside as possible.
Asbestos Removal
Course Information
- According to the OHS Act and Regulations, asbestos removal work involving non-friable asbestos-containing material (ACM) must be performed by a Class A or Class B licensed person if:
- the area of ACM to be removed exceeds 10 square meters in total, or
- the total time over which asbestos removal work is performed in any period of seven days exceeds one hour (this period is the cumulative total time the asbestos removal work is carried out by all employees over a period of seven days).
- According to clause 88 of the WorkSafe Victoria’s Compliance Code “Removing asbestos in the workplace”, refresher training should be conducted for Class B removalists every 2 years.

What you will learn
Non-friable asbestos removal training covers topics such as prepare for asbestos removal, prepare asbestos removal area and removal site, isolate removal site, carry out the asbestos removal process, carry out decontamination process, clean up the worksite, contribute to and use documentation in line with regulatory requirements

Participants MUST HOLD CPCCWHS1001 "Prepare to work safely in the construction industry" qualification.
Statement of the Attainment or the plastic Construction Induction card (also known as the white card) must be presented on the training day as proof of qualification.
Please note that the old coloured cards (Victorian red card, NSW green card etc) issued prior to May 2009 are not accepted.
ENTRY TO THE CLASS WILL BE REFUSED
if participant does not present current white card.
USI (Unique Student Identifier)
From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED
if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.
USI can be obtained via www.usi.gov.au
Identification
Participants must provide one form of photo I.D. (e.g. passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card, student card).

if participants do not provide a valid form of I.D.
Attendance
Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.

LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy)
Basic level of understanding, reading and writing of English is required. Use of interpreters and translators is not allowed.
As part of our pre-training review all students are required to complete an LLN assessment to determine a student’s eligibility for enrolment into their selected course.
All students enrolling into any Edway Training course must have LLN skills to do simple calculations, understand English well enough to be able to read, write, and provide verbal responses to questions in English to undertake training and assessment in any of our courses.
