Online First Aid training covers the following topics

  • First Aid Essentials, including – Hygiene and Infection Prevention, Personal Protective Equipment, Infection Control, Needle Sticks and Waste Disposal
  • Legal considerations including – Consent, Recording, Privacy and Confidentiality
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Management including – Identification of potential causes of injury and illness, Risk Assessment
  • Communication, including – Cultural Awareness, Communicating with Emergency Personnel, Calling for Assistance, Psychological Trauma and PTSD
  • Assessment and Monitoring, including – DRSABCD’s, Continued Management of Casualties, Reassurance and Moving the Injured Casualty
  • CPR including – Cardiac Arrest, The Chain of Survival, When to Stop and Dealing with Infants
  • Defibrillation including – Modern Defibrillator Features, Operating a defibrillator
  • Trauma including – Basic care of wounds, Shock, burns and scalds, electrical shock, Head injuries, Spinal injuries, Facial injuries, Eye injuries, Nose injuries, Mouth injuries, Ear injuries, Chest injuries, penetrative chest wounds, crush injuries and crush injury syndrome
  • Medical including – The Heart, Chest Pain, Coronary Heart Disease, Angina, Heart Attack, Stroke, Diabetes, Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Croup and Epiglottitis, Epilepsy and Febrile Convulsions, Drowning, Meningitis, Fainting, Hyperventilation
  • Practical Tutorial Videos including – Recovery Position, Head Tilt, CPR Pistol Grip, Compression Points, DRSABCD Process, Defibrillation, 1 Person CPR, Management after CPR, Secondary Examinations, Anaphylaxis and Asthma

Please note that our ONLINE ONLY FIRST AID COURSE will NOT result in you receiving an accredited certificate in HLTAID003 Provide First Aid upon completion of the course. Our Online courses are designed for people who require the knowledge of First Aid, and also for people who live in rural areas who cannot access face-to-face training to be assessed for practical competencies. As this course is online only and practical competencies cannot be assessed via this method, participants will not receive an ASQA accredited certificate and, depending on your employer, may not be suitable for work. Check with your employer if this course is right for you if required for employment purposes before commencing the course.

Course Requirements

Students will be required to complete some Online Workbooks after referring to the First Aid manuals provided in the online portal.

Students will also be required to submit a statutory declaration after completion of their workbooks.

Can Centrelink pay for my course?

Centrelink does not make payments directly to training organisations for participants’ courses. What you will have to do is register with a local job agency, your case worker will make the booking with us on your behalf as well as arrange payment.

Can I pay for my course in instalments?

All courses must be paid for in full either at the time of booking or at the time of registration. Our training course prices are extremely competitive and high quality. We aim to make them as affordable as possible while still providing superior training solutions.

After my course, can you find me work?

We are closely tied with Edway Labour Hire, a recruitment company specialising in short term labour hire in the construction industry. If you are interested in applying, please see one of our friendly staff members.

What if I struggle with English?

For all our courses, a basic to intermediate understanding of the English language is required. Some courses allow the use of translators or interpreters, it is best to check the course requirements before making a booking. If we suspect you may struggle to understand the course content, you will be asked to complete an English test.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept VISA/Mastercard payments as well as EFTPOS or cash. We can invoice your company, however, this needs to be arranged prior to your course.

What is your cancellation policy?

Generally, we require 48 business hours notice in order to cancel a booking. Changes to class times are allowed, but not within 48 hours of the class commencing.

Sibby has been a trainer for the last 20 years in various industries. Since 2010, she has become a VET sector specialist, specialising in Certificate IV in Training and Assessing, Leadership and Management, Work Health and Safety and First Aid.

Gino Debono coming from the fire fighting background and was responsible for training of junior fire fighters, leading station drill and lecturing at schools. He’s passionate about training whether as a paid professional or as a volunteer.
